Since there was not enough time to show and talk about the photo's you all made in Berlin, we suggest that everyone uploads 3 photo's according to the 'Rethink it - theme'. At a bit of comment - why you choose these ...

You can simply do it by making a new page on your blog or ... just give it a try.

If it doesn't succeed, sent the 3 photo's to herwig.art27@yahoo.com (don't paste them in a word document or pdf or mail ! ) Sent them as a .jpeg and live will be much easier over here ....

The name Berlin is of unknown origin, but may be related to the Old Polobian stem berl-/birl- "swamp".

The city has traces of integrated swamp and like any other big town, so many faces it quickly turns into a blur.

Mother nature provided us with snow, a white canvas, an unwritten sheet.

Here are my three pictures:

1. Icy river in Berlin. Floating ice forming beautiful patterns. Again and again different compositions form. The same way people involved in our project move side by side while being part of a larger picture. The same does Europe.

2. I wrote the names of all the project participants side by side in a similar ice pattern like composition.

3. Hamburger Bahnhof invites to explore it's content.

I placed the statue of Immanuel Kant between the "documented" artwork in the Reichstag and the commercialised streetculture that we saw in the Oranienburgerstrasse ...

3 ways of thinking, 3 ways of writing history, 3 ways of awareness ... but all instititionalised to serve a (in)convenient truth.
