After 20 years ... that must be good!

 Hi Eliisa,

I recognise the title, although I admit that i didn't read it all ... Maybe yoy can convice us to read it or give us a short impression during our next meeting. And most important : you're the first to post some theoretical background things on this site. Who's next ?

Benedict Anderson: Imagined Communities

The first book I read about nationalism was Benedict Anderson's book Imagined Communities: Reflections on the Origin and Spread of Nationalism

This book was translated to finnish 2007 even if it is writen 1983 - so you get some idea how long it takes that the ideas comes to Finland.

Our language keeps us a bit outsider of what is happening in the other parts of the world, but we are not stupid -  We need to rethink everything what is said - to translate things in to our own laguage. It is something also inviduals has to do in any language. We can only imagine that we have common opinnion about the things.( Imagination is very good to have anyways - it makes communication posible.)
